Itza D. Moreno, MSN, FNP-C
Itza D. Moreno, MSN, FNP-C, is a compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner with over 7 years of diverse clinical experience in chronic disease management, patient education, and evidence-based nursing care. She has served patients across all ages and is committed to improving healthcare access for underserved communities.
Itza currently works as a Perioperative Nurse at Cerritos Surgery Center and Ocean One Surgery Center, where she prepares patients for surgery, assists in orthopedic procedures, and provides post-operative care. Her background also includes experience as a Telemetry Nurse in the Step-Down Unit at St. Mary Medical Center, caring for patients recovering from cardiac events, stroke, and major surgeries.
With a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Family Nurse Practitioner certification (FNP-C), Itza brings strong clinical expertise to nursing education. She has trained new nurses in patient care standards and is passionate about mentoring future healthcare professionals. As a bilingual English–Spanish nurse, she connects effectively with a wider range of patients and students, enriching every learning experience.
Lea Summers, MSN, RN, CMSRN
Lea Summers, MSN, RN, CMSRN, is an experienced nursing educator and clinician with over 11 years of expertise across medical-surgical, telemetry, and perioperative nursing.
Lea holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education and Population-Based Advanced Practice Nursing, with a focus on women’s health and osteoporosis. Her clinical background includes roles as a charge nurse, unit trainer, and staff educator, equipping her with strong leadership and hands-on teaching skills.
Passionate about clinical judgment, evidence-based practice, and nursing leadership, Lea is dedicated to preparing future nurses for success—both in NCLEX preparation and real-world clinical practice.
Sonny San Pedro, BSN, RN
Sonny San Pedro, BSN, RN, is an experienced Telemetry Nurse and nursing educator with over 23 years of clinical and academic leadership. He has served in top healthcare institutions including Sharp Hospitals, St. Joseph Orange County, and Scripps Hospital, specializing in telemetry care, cardiac monitoring, and high-acuity patient management.
Sonny has held key leadership roles throughout his career and is the co-founder of VSK Healthcare Learning Institute, where he played a major role in program development, curriculum design, and organizational management. His work has contributed significantly to improving training standards for both local and international nurses. With extensive experience in nurse recruitment, post-graduate RN programs, and clinical training, Sonny is committed to helping aspiring nurses build strong foundational skills. His dedication to continuous professional development and hands-on mentorship makes him a valuable guide for students preparing for the NCLEX and advancing their clinical careers.
Dr. Visal Nga, MD, Internal Medicine
Dr. Visal Nga, MD, is an experienced Internal Medicine Physician with over 14 years of clinical expertise in hospital medicine, patient care, and medical education. He earned his medical degree from Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, California.
Dr. Nga has served in respected healthcare institutions including Memorial Medical Center, St. Mary Medical Center, and College Hospital Long Beach, where he is known for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. He has also held academic leadership roles, including serving as an Associate Clinical Professor for the St. Mary Medical Center Residency Program in affiliation with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Passionate about medical education and leadership development, Dr. Nga is dedicated to mentoring future healthcare professionals—helping them strengthen both clinical and leadership skills essential for success in the medical field. He also volunteers with the CHPAA Organization, providing free medical services to underserved communities in Cambodia.
